Use pre-built templates in the Standard Templates Library to quickly create consistent notifications in Momenta. This guide covers how to preview templates, use them in bulk, resolve condition warnings, and save them as drafts for future use.
Overview
The Standard Templates Library helps Admins create scheduled notifications more efficiently across all Momenta journeys by starting from pre-configured, best-practice templates.
Instead of building each message from scratch, you can:
- Reuse tested templates
- Reduce setup time
- Maintain consistency in language and tone
- Create messages in bulk across journeys or cohorts
Create New Notification – Entry Options
When you click + New Notification in the Notifications tab, you’ll now see two entry options:
- Create new: Opens a blank form
- Create from template: Opens the Templates Library Table
This lets you choose whether to reuse a standard template or start fresh. Selecting Start from template is the recommended option for common comms like welcome emails, nudges, or session reminders.
Templates Library Table
The Templates Library appears in a table format with the following columns:
- Title
- Channel (Email or In-App)
- Primary Condition (e.g., "After activity complete")
- Tags (e.g., "Reminder", "Welcome", "Wrap-up")
You can:
- Preview a template before use
- Select one or more to start notification creation
Filtering and Searching Templates
You can use:
- The search bar to find templates by keyword (e.g., "feedback")
- The tag filter to narrow results (e.g., "Session")
This makes it easy to find the right template, especially as the library grows.
Previewing a Template
Click Preview to view:
- Notification title
- Message body (HTML)
- Primary condition (e.g., module complete)
- Tags and delivery method
This lets you confirm the message logic and content before use.
Creating a Notification from a Template
Click on a template title or Use to open the notification modal, which is:
- Pre-filled with the template’s message, condition, and tags
- Fully editable (you can change anything before saving)
- Always saved as a Draft by default
Admins must manually publish (enable) after reviewing the draft.
Bulk Creation of Notifications
To create multiple notifications at once:
- Select multiple templates using checkboxes
- Click Use Templates to open the Bulk Confirmation modal
- Edit any warnings (e.g., missing values) before saving
- Click Confirm & Save Drafts
All messages will be saved as separate drafts in the Scheduled Notifications table.
Handling Missing Condition Warnings
Some templates require extra values (e.g., Activity Name, Score Range). If these are missing, you’ll see:
- Tooltip warnings next to the template in the bulk modal
- Modal-level banner warnings if editing a single draft
You won’t be able to save until these required fields are completed.
Saving and Managing Drafts
All notifications created from templates are saved as Drafts. Once saved:
- Go to the Notifications Table (Journey, Cohort, or Team)
- Edit, enable, preview, or delete the draft as needed
Drafts behave like any other manually created notification and are no longer linked to the template after saving.
