This article explains how to create and manage a Minisim—a linear, moments-based simulation in Momenta that includes metrics, decisions, and facilitator dashboards. Minisims are authored like content objects and launched directly within a journey.
Overview
The Minisim tool lets authors build a linear, interactive simulation experience using scenes, decisions, metrics, and optional characters and locations. These can include text, audio, image, or video components and track participant choices against defined scoring metrics.
Creating a Minisim
- In Momenta Admin, go to Add New > Content > New Minisim
- Complete the following required fields:
- Content Title
- Languages
- Sim Client Name
- Launch button text
- The Minisim object will now appear in your folder and can be added to a journey like any content item.
Authoring the Minisim
The authoring interface includes the following tabs:
- Scenes: Build your simulation moment by moment
- Metrics: Create and configure scoring logic
- Characters: Optional org chart and email/voicemail actors
- Locations: Optional location tabs like Office, Factory, etc.
- Dashboard: Select metrics to show participants
- Leaderboard: Select metrics to show facilitators
- Resources: Add downloadable documents or links
Supported Decision Types:
- Single Select
- Multi Select
- Ranking
Scoring Formats: Number, Currency, Percentage (with gauge/bar visual options)
Scene Options:
- Information scenes (with text, image/video, location)
- Email or Voicemail scenes (requires Character setup)
- Decision scenes (can include feedback and impact on metrics)
All scenes are placed between round bookmarks and support drag-and-drop reordering.
Participant Experience
- Participants access the Minisim via a Launch panel in their journey
- They view current round progress, navigate scenes, and make decisions in sequence
- Feedback appears after each decision, and dashboards update based on metric impact
- If enabled, participants can review missed options and see feedback for those too
Facilitator Dashboard
To enable:
- Go to Journey Configuration
- Open the Dashboard & Reporting tab
- Toggle on Minisim and Minisim Dashboard
- Save changes
Facilitators will see:
- Overview tab: Participant progress, scores, and bulk actions (reset, export)
- Leaderboard tab: Ranks participants by selected metrics
- Moments tab: Tracks participant responses across decision moments
