Add Workshops to your Journey

This article explains how to set up and configure a Workshop Activity in Momenta. Workshops can be virtual or in-person and can include start and end times, location details, prerequisites, and participant feedback via EDVs. You can also manage cohort-specific dates using lifecycle controls and blueprinting.



Overview

Workshops are added as activities to the journey skeleton. They can support both in-person and virtual formats, include prerequisites, award completion points, and collect EDV feedback. All workshops must have a default time set at the journey level.


How to Create a Workshop

  1. Go to the Admin view of your journey
  2. Open the journey flow and select a module or stage
  3. Click + Add Activity and select Workshop
  4. Fill in the following required and optional details:
    • Title (required)
    • Workshop Type: Virtual or In Person (required)
    • Start & End Time (required)
    • Location or Conference URL & Password (optional)
    • Additional Instructions + Custom Text Fields
    • Points for Completion, Expected Duration
  5. Click Save & Publish


Setting Prerequisites

  1. In the workshop editor, go to the Prerequisites tab
  2. Select required activities (e.g., Go-Do, pre-reading, handout)
  3. Only activities in the same module can be selected
  4. Ensure you understand what “completion” means for each item


EDV Configuration

To collect participant feedback:

  1. Go to the EDV tab in the workshop settings
  2. Toggle ON any of the following:
    • 5 Star Rating
    • Leadership Learning Question
    • Reaction Score
  3. Click Save & Publish


Managing Dates Across Cohorts

If workshop dates or times differ by cohort, follow these steps:

Step 1: Hide the Workshop at the Journey Level

  1. Edit the workshop activity
  2. Go to the Lifecycle tab
  3. Set a “Make Invisible” condition using Static Date (e.g., today)
  4. Save & Publish

Step 2: Update at the Cohort Level

  1. Go to Experiences & Cohorts > Configure Cohort
  2. Open the Blueprint tab
  3. Find the workshop and click Edit
  4. Remove the “Make Invisible” condition
  5. Update Start/End Time, Location, Instructions
  6. Click Save & Publish

Note: The workshop type (Virtual vs In Person) cannot be changed at the cohort level. Set this correctly at the journey level.
