Content Authoring & Configuration

Modified on Fri, 22 Aug at 1:05 AM

This article provides a comprehensive guide to using content blocks in Momenta. Content blocks are modular components that can be arranged, configured, and customized to create rich participant experiences within a content object. Each block serves a specific function—from text formatting to participant interaction, media display, and document generation.

Basic Content Blocks

  • Page Divider: Required for each content object to define page boundaries.
  • Callout: Highlights key information with distinct styling.
  • Cards: Front-and-back flip cards used for microcontent or comparisons.
  • Regular Content Block: Text, tables, inline images, tokens, and interactive inputs.
  • Download: Creates a button for downloading or linking documents.
  • Nested Content: Supports Accordion, Tabs, or Carousel views.
  • Custom Code: Embed custom HTML, typically for advanced use cases like audio or external players.

Media Content Blocks

  • Image: Displays a single image with alignment and sizing controls.
  • Text & Image: Places an image beside a text block (alignment customizable).
  • Video: Accepts direct uploads or .mp4 links; hosted on AWS with optional subtitles.
  • SCORM: Use to upload SCORM objects (.zip) from external tools like Storyline.

Interactive Content Blocks

  • Text Input: Create fillable text areas (within regular content blocks).
  • Radio Button Matrix: Multi-question grid format using radio buttons.
  • Selection: Single or multi-select with short/long/accordion display and optional feedback logic.
  • Discussion Thread: Enables threaded discussion within a cohort/team/journey.
  • Generate Document: Pulls user data into a downloadable doc template (Word/PowerPoint/PDF).
  • Participant Response: Recalls previous JSID-based inputs from the participant.
  • Response Graph: Displays a visual graph of cohort responses to a prior selection block.
  • Wordcloud: Generates a word cloud based on text input from users.
  • Slider / NPS: Visual numeric scale, with standard NPS toggle built-in.
  • Go-Do Commitment: Creates a tracked commitment block (different from open-ended Actions).
  • Upload Document: Allows file submission by participants (Word, Excel, PPT, PDF).
  • Share Link: Temporary or deep link to share the content object outside the journey.
  • AI Chatbot: Inserts a custom-built bot (contact Digital AI Support).
  • Video Assessment: Connects to third-party tools like Virtual Sapiens for feedback analysis.

Mandatory Input Highlighting – Updated Validation (August 2025)

What Changed: We've improved how mandatory interactive blocks behave across all content types.

  • The Next button is no longer disabled when required fields are left empty.
  • Instead, clicking Next now highlights any missed required fields in red, guiding the participant directly to what needs to be completed.

Why It Changed: To improve usability and ensure participants clearly understand what’s missing before they can proceed.

Scope: This affects all pages with interactive blocks marked as mandatory, including text inputs, selections, sliders, radio matrices, and others.

Content Object Configuration

  • Resource & Theme: Tag content for use as a Resource; link to Theme and set Impact score
  • Shareable Link: Enables time-limited access outside the journey
  • Deep Link: Generates a persistent link to the content as a resource
  • Scoring & Duration: Sets point value and estimated time for tracking/progress purposes
