This article provides guidance on how to script and organize content when building a journey in Momenta. Whether you're using standard content, drafting new pages, or outlining a full journey structure, the templates below help consultants and SMEs hand off information cleanly to the digital builder.
Introduction & Purpose
There’s no single "right" way to give content to a Momenta builder, but if you’re new to the process, it can help to use standard templates and follow common practices. These documents help you communicate your intent and avoid confusion when your journey is being built by someone else.
Think of these templates as scaffolding: you can use them as-is, modify them to your needs, or combine elements of each depending on what’s being built.
Recommended Templates
1. Momenta Journey Digital Outline (Excel)
- Best for defining the full journey structure: stages, modules, activities
- Useful early in the project to align on naming, navigation, and sequencing
- Includes tabs for:
- Consult Tab: Builder collects journey configuration needs
- Wireframe: Primary page for journey layout
- Optional tabs: Homepage content, notifications, extra resources
2. Momenta Script Template (Word)
- Designed for consultants familiar with the platform
- Great for laying out complex page builds (e.g., specific components, two-column blocks, images, go-dos)
- Gives the builder clear visual guidance on layout and flow
3. Momenta Source Document (Word)
- Best for text-heavy content or when working with new SMEs unfamiliar with Momenta
- More flexible — can include specific design preferences or leave decisions to the builder
- If there is a specific vision for the layout, be sure to note it clearly
Tip: Use the upper left corner of each scripting slide to indicate module and activity placement, and the upper right to flag layout requests.
Best Practice Tips for Content Handoff
- Be explicit: If you have a vision for how a page should look or function, spell it out.
- Use standard templates: Especially if you're unfamiliar with the platform or working with a new builder.
- Limit back-and-forth: Aim to complete at least 80% of your content before handing off to the builder.
- After handoff: Shift to shared comment threads, Excel, or Slack to track edits once live in Momenta.
- Coordinate with your Momenta Advisor: They can review your docs before build begins to catch gaps.
Remember: Your content doesn't have to be perfect, but it should be clear. The more context you provide, the smoother your build will go.
