Introduction & Purpose
This article serves as a master reference for all Pulse Builder components used in Get Togethers and other Pulse experiences. It outlines configuration options, use cases, limitations, and visual behavior to help content authors design consistent, high-quality learning flows.
Target Audience
Content Authors – Build and configure Pulse pages and activities
Learning Designers – Choose appropriate interaction types
Consultants / Advisors – Recommend configurations during setup
Reviewers – QA content for consistency and clarity

1. Overview of Component Categories
Pulse Builder groups components into 3 tabs:
Basic Components – Content display blocks
Input Components – Participant interaction and data capture
Results Components – Visual feedback and analytics

Basic Components
Page Title
Purpose: Top-of-page title with enforced styling
Options: Text alignment, global font/size/case settings
Limitations: One per page recommended
Content (Free Text)
Purpose: Flexible rich text block (Froala editor)
Options: Headings, bullets, tables, links, tokens, etc.
Watchouts: Formatting paste-in from Word/Docs can break styling
Image
Purpose: Add inline or full-width visuals
Options: Size (native, small, med, full), alignment, lightbox
Watchouts: Crop before upload; no alt text currently supported
Text + Image
Purpose: Combine image and text side-by-side
Options: Float (L/R), vertical alignment, limit width
Watchouts: No control over image size beyond float + layout
Video
Purpose: Embed .mp4/.mov clips with optional poster
Options: Size, alignment, fullscreen toggle, mandatory playback
Watchouts: Must compress videos; no subtitle editor (requires .vtt file)
Styled List
Purpose: Ordered/unordered list with controlled spacing and font size
Options: Bullet/number type, background color, font scaling
Watchouts: No rich formatting inside list items
Input Components
Brainstorm Input
Purpose: Crowdsourcing input via text cards
Options: Allow multiple, show responses, anonymity, layout (cards/list)
Watchouts: No edit/delete after submit
Single Choice / Multiple Choice
Purpose: Polling, decisions, multi-select tagging
Options: Random order, correct answer logic, layout, labels
Watchouts: Must link ID to results; use submit button to avoid accidental clicks
Moment Choice
Purpose: Scenario-based decision with feedback
Options: Tabs or flat layout, feedback per option, correct answer logic
Watchouts: One correct answer only; no branching
Range & Rating
Purpose: Numeric sliders or star ratings
Options: 1–10 range, labels (L/M/R), step, color, submit toggle
Watchouts: Multi-question blocks use shared scale only
Ranking Prioritization
Purpose: Reorder list by importance
Options: Up to 10 items, random order, color customization
Watchouts: Max 10; drag-and-drop only
True/False
Purpose: Binary input (yes/no, agree/disagree)
Options: Icons, random order, feedback mode (generic/binary)
Watchouts: Only 2 options; good for quick checks, not reflection
Action Plan
Purpose: Record individual or team commitments
Options: Due date, topic selector (max 10), card/list view
Watchouts: Each session only sees local actions; topic color customization limited
Results & Reporting Components
Brainstorm Rating / Debrief
Rating: Participants endorse submitted responses ("likes")
Debrief: Show clustered themes (AI), filter by likes, focus mode
Watchouts: Debrief must link to brainstorm ID
Component Results
Applies to: Single Choice, Multiple Choice, Moment, Rating, etc.
Options: Chart type (pie, bar), show own choice, legend, tooltips
Watchouts: Must match component ID exactly
Moment Feedback / Results
Feedback: Tabbed view of all options + explanations
Results: Breakdown chart with optional “Show Feedback” button
Watchouts: Feedback must be pre-authored in Moment Choice
Session Report
Purpose: Auto-summary page with all linked component outputs
Options: Link up to 9 IDs, show stats, show avg time
Watchouts: Order is controlled manually in config panel
Watchouts & Considerations
Input ID matching is required for results and reports
Ranking & Action Plan max: 10 items/topics
Only one correct answer supported in scoring-based inputs
Data is session-specific unless exported or reported via dashboard
