Overview

This guide helps new users understand what NextGen Pulse (NGP) is, how it works, and how to set up and run impactful Get Togethers. It introduces key concepts like Flows, Experiences, and Sessions and highlights best practices for Pulse authors and facilitators.

What is NextGen Pulse?

NGP is BTS’s platform for building interactive, leader-led sessions. It enables aligned, data-driven team conversations that go beyond slides or static content. NGP experiences can be delivered virtually, in person, or hybrid.

The Power of Leader-Led Experiences

  • Definition: Leaders facilitate sessions for their own teams
  • Why it matters: Trust, action, and relevance are maximized
  • Platform benefit: Empowers distributed teams at scale
  • Leader’s role: Navigate content, pace discussion, activate post-session actions

Core Use Case: Get Togethers

  • Team-based micro-workshops designed for leaders to deliver
  • Structure: Kickoff → Activities → Debrief → Action Plan
  • Benefits: High engagement, action tracking, and global scalability

What is Pulse Builder?

  • Drag-and-drop authoring environment inside Momenta
  • Create Flows (modular content pages) that leaders deliver
  • Includes templates, containers, layout control, and inputs
  • Can include Isomer sims, polling, discussion blocks, and debriefs

Who Uses Pulse & Why

  • Authors: Build Flows using templates
  • Leaders: Facilitate Get Togethers for their teams
  • Participants: Interact with content, reflect, commit
  • Admins: Set up cohorts, configure permissions, pull reports

Understanding Flows, Experiences, and Sessions

  • Flow: A content object—what’s being delivered
  • Experience: A container housing one or more Flows
  • Session: A live instance launched by the Leader
  • Flow ≠ Journey: Pulse is separate from traditional Momenta journeys

Using Practice Mode

  • Practice Sessions let leaders preview content, test delivery
  • Practice is not visible to participants
  • Use it to spot errors, check pacing, and validate inputs

Watchouts & Considerations

For Authors

  • Start with templates
  • Use simple layout and interactions (avoid clutter)
  • Test everything before publishing
  • Use clear facilitation notes
  • Plan ahead for data collection (e.g., Action Plan, polling)

For Leaders

  • Only you can click “Next” — participants cannot navigate independently
  • Use the Live Results panel actively
  • Pace the session thoughtfully—don’t rush
  • Don’t forget to close the session at the end
