This article outlines how to use the Blueprint tool in Momenta to control participant access to stages, modules, and activities. Blueprinting can be configured at either the Journey or Cohort level depending on the level of control you need.
Introduction
The Blueprint lets you control when and how participants see or interact with each element in a journey. This can be automated or manually controlled, and customized per cohort or journey-wide.
Accessing Journey-Level Blueprint
- Find your journey in the Client Collection
- Select Scheduling Blueprint from the left-hand menu
- Make your changes and Save & Publish
Accessing Cohort-Level Blueprint
- Go to Experiences & Cohorts
- Search for the client and journey
- Click the 3-dot menu > Cohorts
- Select the cohort > Configure
- Open the Blueprint tab
- Edit lifecycle conditions for any stage, module, or activity
When to Use Journey vs Cohort Blueprint
Use Journey-Level Blueprint if:
- All cohorts follow a predictable pattern
- Lifecycle rules like “Stage 2 opens 2 weeks after start” apply across all groups
- Journey is self-paced and needs uniform timing
Use Cohort-Level Blueprint if:
- You're managing cohort-specific dates or workshops
- You need to override global logic for one group
- You want manual control for specific content
How to Set Lifecycle Conditions
Click the Edit button on a stage, module, or activity. Choose one or more lifecycle conditions:
- Make Visible: Hidden from flow until unlocked
- Make Available: Visible but locked until unlocked
- Remove Access: Locked after a certain condition is met
- Make Invisible: Hidden after a condition is met
Types of conditions:
- Static: Fixed date & time
- Relative: X days before/after a defined anchor (e.g., cohort start)
- Script: Advanced logic (requires community manager support)
Manual Facilitator/JSM Control: No automatic unlock—must be manually activated
Cohort-Only Features
- Activate content that is manually controlled
- Edit Workshop Details:
- Workshop Type: In-person or Virtual
- Location
- Conference URL & Password
- Start & End Time
- Custom Instructions & Fields
Journey-Only Features
- Testing Conditions: Available only in journey-level blueprinting (more details coming soon)
Watchouts & Considerations
- If you set lifecycle rules, the EDV tab may appear—see EDV setup page (coming soon)
- Blueprint edits at journey level require Save & Publish
- Restricted Coaching activities still appear under My Coaching tab even if locked
Visual Aids
- Accessing the Scheduling Blueprint at Journey Level
- Accessing the Scheduling Blueprint Tab in Cohort Settings
- Lifecycle Condition Options
- Static and Relative Settings
