Reset Participant Password

Instructions for resetting a participant’s password in Momenta — whether you are an admin, a participant, or sending a recovery link.


Overview

You can reset a participant’s password from the Admin Portal, or participants can reset it themselves from the login screen or within the platform. Recovery links can also be emailed directly to participants for password resets.


Reset Password in Admin Portal

  1. Go to the Participants tab in the Admin view.
  2. Select the Client Collection and search by name or email.
  3. Click Edit next to the participant’s name.
  4. Scroll to the bottom and click Reset Password.
  5. Set a new password manually or click Generate to create one automatically.
  6. Click Update Password to confirm changes.


Reset Your Own Password

Participants can change their password from within the platform:

  1. Click on your initials/avatar in the top-right corner.
  2. Choose Reset Password.
  3. Enter a new password and confirm it.

Note: Password reset is only available for non-SSO participants.


Option 1: From the login page

  • Click Forgot password?
  • Enter the email address and click Email Recovery Link.

Option 2: From Admin Portal

  1. Navigate to the participant’s profile via the Participants tab.
  2. Click Reset Link to send a reset email.


Watchouts & Considerations

  • Password requirements are defined at the client level. Ensure the new password meets the minimum criteria.
  • SSO users: Password resets via Momenta do not affect SSO credentials. Direct them to their organization's SSO provider.
  • If a participant doesn’t receive the reset email, admins can manually reset the password and advise them to update it after logging in.
